Victorian Fire Disaster
TREW Relief Effort, 2009
June Update
Farrier/Vet Dr. J. Mulholland
Jude has a long term commitment to the community and animals of the area, and has been making trips back down periodically to follow up on cases, and treat newly referred horses. She has been doing this for the past four months at her own expense, and at the expense of her own clientele.
TREW has pressed upon Jude a grant from the TREW Equine Fire Relief Fund to assist in covering veterinary supplies and various other expenses that Jude is incurring through her work. She still refuses however to accept any support in regards to her personal time and expertise, fuel costs and the like. We hope that by supporting Jude's efforts, she will be better equipped to provide the help people are seeking for their horses and ponies.
Donated Float
It was a significant contribution from an individual, who had specifically requested that she would prefer that it go to a club or organisation, where it could be of benefit to the maximum number of people.
This heartfelt gift has been received with a great deal of appreciation.
Valley Country

The good people of Valley Country have wrapped up their appeal and are currently arranging shipment from northern NSW of some pallet loads of donations.
Although we are now nearly 5 months down the track, this shipment will actually be very welcome, as we have been finding, and are being put in touch with, quite a number of horse owners lately who missed the initial deluge of support. In most cases, this has been due to crushing emotional circumstances which have prevented them from moving beyond issues of a higher priority.
Thank you to Valley Country, the Rotary Club of Grafton, and the good people who have supported their effort. We very much appreciate the time and effort put into this appeal.
Donated Horserail Fencing – Update on Distribution

"We are currently looking at approx 10 families, and this number is increasing daily. A delivery has also been made to Kinglake Riding Club who lost 100% of their fencing. Some fencing has been set aside for individuals/clubs who are not yet at the point where it can be erected.
I have organised to meet with a representative from BlazeAid and a couple of locals on Saturday the 4th, and together we will visit those in the area who are in need of TREW's assistance in relation to their fencing needs. This is important, as there are a number of people who are too proud to ask for help, those who are of the opinion that they have received more than there fair share of assistance, and there are some who just don't know that help is available.

Financial Update:
TREW has been very conscious of its responsibility to donors to allocate available funds wisely and effectively.
Through the incredible support we have received from a multitude of business', individuals, volunteers, and our membership, an incredible amount has been achieved, and is still being achieved, at no financial cost to the organisation.
