Assisting the Community
One of TREWs aims is to help our communities where possible. We take the time to focus on individual cases involving ordinary people within our communities who require some sort of assistance be it in regards to feeding plans, basic horsemanship advice, assistance in special cases or a range of other areas. The stories posted so far show that equine welfare embraces so much more than simply rescuing and rehabilitating horses alone. There are so many different scenarios, backgrounds, histories and situations that lead up to, and contribute to a horse becoming neglected.
With early intervention, often the more serious issues can be prevented. This is something all animal lovers can contribute to, everytime we come into contact with horse owners/carers that are less experienced and/or knowledgeable.
Even if you do not have the experience yourself to deal with an issue we see, passing on TREW's contact details may well improve the lives of at least some of the horses out there, by enabling their owners to provide more appropriate care. With more information available to horse owners, cases of neglect through ignorance are less likely to occur.
If you have any queries or require assistance, please contact TREW at equines@triplerequinewelfare.org.au
Our Mission Statement
TREW is committed to improving the lives, prospects, and well-being of all Equines.TREW offers education to the community on essential equine care and welfare, creates awareness of equine suffering, and fosters proactive attitudes towards its prevention.
TREW acts as a conduit between struggling horse owners and community resources to ensure the best outcome for equines in need.
TREW also provides resources and support to assist individuals in the reporting of cases of neglect and maltreatment, and encourages the public to take action and responsibility for the well-being of equines in their wider community.
TREW carries out the hands-on recovery, rehabilitation, and re-homing of equines in need, and provides a safe haven for equines currently in dire circumstances, where their well being will remain at risk.
TREW strives to stay abreast of equine welfare developments and legislation, with the aim of having a constructive role in contributing towards the modification and/or creation of laws and policies which further equine protection in Australia.
